Why we rebranded

BoodleBox has rebranded! There’s a new logo, new colors, new website—the whole kit and kaboodle. Before we get into it, I’d love to share some backstory.

I’m Tracee. I joined the BoodleBox team about a month ago as SVP of Marketing. Getting to be here still feels more like an honor than a job. As a first-generation college graduate with humble beginnings, I know firsthand what it means when access and opportunity actually reach the people who need them and what it means when they don't. So when I found a company building AI solutions meant to expand human potential instead of replacing it, meant to reach a classroom as readily as a boardroom, I didn't need much convincing. I came here to help tell that story. And this rebrand represents a first real chapter in getting to do just that.

The sizzle and the steak

Throughout my career I've heard marketing described as "the sizzle." Sometimes that’s a compliment and sometimes a direct dismissal, as in "the sizzle, not the steak." And honestly? It's not wrong. Marketing is the sizzle. Does that make it superficial?

Think about what the sizzle actually does. It's the sound that turns your head before you've seen the plate, the smell that makes a promise about the taste before you've taken a single bite. Nobody walks through the door because of the steak sitting quietly in the back — they walk through the door because something signaled to them, before they ever tasted it, that it would be worth their time. The steak has to seal the deal. But the sizzle is what gets you to the table in the first place.

Brand isn’t just decoration or spin . . . not when it represents something real. The sizzle either tells the first truth or the first lie about what comes next.

Ultimately, the true brand isn't what a company says about itself. It's the sum of every experience, thought, feeling, and perception the world has already formed about it — whether the company participated in shaping it or not. People are going to have a story about BoodleBox regardless of what we do. We have one clear choice: tell our story intentionally and back it up with action. If who we say we are doesn't match how the world experiences us, it doesn't matter how good it looks or sounds. It doesn't matter how enticing the sizzle is.

What I found when I got here

I didn't arrive to a brand in need of repair. Rather, what I saw was a brand readying to catch its stride.

BoodleBox already stood for something worth believing in: that AI has handed nearly everyone a faster car, but almost no one is building better roads. And speed without direction only gets you lost faster. The real opportunity wasn’t a smarter model working in isolation, it was smarter collaboration. Collaboration between people, between teams, and between humans and the AI they're learning to work alongside. BoodleBox calls that Collaborative Intelligence, and it has been the driving force behind everything we build — long before it had a name. Now it finally has one, and you can dive deeper into the story in our manifesto, the Boodlefesto.

So think of this as an amplification project — a chance to say more clearly what has long been true. Here's how we tried to make that truth more visible:

We describe ourselves simply. We say it once: BoodleBox is the collaborative AI workspace for teaching, learning, and work. "Workspace" is a word people already trust and understand. We’re making it ours.

The BoodleBox mark

Our mark found a clearer way to express what it's always intended. The icon, which we call The Box, can be seen three ways:

  • A box caught in the act of opening
  • Four people seated around a shared table
  • A plus sign

Different perspectives, same idea. This is a space you build in, together, not alone.

We were just as deliberate about color. Indigo Night, our new anchor color, borrows meaning from military use, where purple represents jointness. It's the idea of different disciplines setting aside their differences to move as one toward a shared mission. That's the feeling we want BoodleBox to carry into every room it enters.

And our font got softer, on purpose. Season, our new typeface, reads like a person talking with you, not a product talking at you. Many companies write like the product is the main character. We'd rather write like you are (because you are).

France, our Founder & CEO says it best. Listen to his thoughts about the rebrand.

What hasn't changed

Strip away the new logo, the new colors, refined narrative and you'll find the same things anchoring this company that have been here all along. Three values that don't require a rebrand:

1. Service. We exist to be useful to the people who trust us with their classrooms, teams, and institutions.

2. Education. We strive to unlock human potential, not automate around it.

3. Collaboration. We treat friction and disagreement as strengths worth working through, not problems to smooth over.

Those are our values. Beneath them sit a few commitments we hold ourselves to, no matter how fast the technology moves:

  • Close the AI divide. Equitable access to transformative technology isn't a footnote, it's the point.
  • Scale sustainably. We won't chase efficiency at the expense of the planet, or the people who make this possible.
  • Trust as baseline. Our business model has to look like our values, every time. Not just when it's convenient.
  • Human first. AI doesn't have to be dehumanizing. We get to choose how this plays out, and we choose people.

If you've already trusted us with your classroom, your team, or your institution, that trust doesn’t need to be re-earned. This rebrand doesn't ask you to see us differently. It just makes it easier to see what was already true.

Where we're headed

A rebrand is really a bet on what comes next, and ours is a bet on Collaborative Intelligence as that better road — not just a faster car, but a smarter way to get where we're all trying to go, together. You'll see it in the product, in how we show up for partners, and in the kind of company we're committed to being.

We're not walking away from anything we've been. We're just finally saying, out loud and on purpose, who we were always meant to be. I'm honored to get to tell you about it and even more glad you're here for it.
