AI Leadership Council for Education

Leading the conversation on responsible and collaborative AI in higher education.

The AI Leadership Council for Education is a volunteer community dedicated to improving higher education through responsible and collaborative AI. This forward-thinking group of educators exists to share insights, set direction, and support institutions navigating AI.

MISSION & NORTH STARS

Why we exist

Higher education isn't simply adopting AI. It's being asked to absorb a technology that moves faster than institutional governance and arrives unevenly, reaching well-resourced universities and under-resourced community colleges and rural districts very differently.

The council exists because the people best positioned to answer the hard questions like: "What is my role now?" and "What do students actually need to learn?" are the ones in the classroom and on campus.

Drive Ethical AI Use

Champion responsible, transparent, and equitable AI adoption across educational institutions — building frameworks that empower rather than restrict, and engaging directly with the hard questions institutions face today.

Promote Sustainable AI Adoption

Sustainable in two senses: environmentally, through BoodleBox's dramatically smaller compute footprint, and institutionally, through adoption that outlasts a single champion, semester, or grant cycle — owned by the whole institution, not one department.

Advance Equitable Access

Make sure AI doesn't become another axis of inequality — with deliberate attention to under-resourced institutions, the K-12-to-workforce learning pipeline, and educators and students whose languages and contexts are too often an afterthought.
