The AI Leadership Council for Legal is a volunteer community of attorneys, legal technologists, consultants, and legal educators who are shaping how AI gets used in the profession. Members share what's working, flag what isn't, and help set the direction for collaborative AI in legal practice.
Legal AI is moving faster than firm policy, bar guidance, or law school curricula. The questions that matter most are practical ones: What can I trust it with? How do I protect client confidentiality? How do I train the next generation of lawyers?
The council exists because the people best placed to answer them are the ones doing the work: in the courtroom, the firm, the legal department, and the classroom. It gives them a seat at the table and a direct line to the team building the tools.
Champion AI adoption that respects confidentiality, privilege, and professional responsibility. We build practical guidance that helps legal professionals use AI with confidence, and we take on the hard questions the profession faces today.
Legal work is a team sport. We focus on how attorneys, staff, and AI can work together on research, case prep, and strategy, in ways that last beyond a single pilot or a single champion.
Make sure AI doesn't widen the gap between well-resourced firms and everyone else, with deliberate attention to solo and small firms, legal aid, and public-interest work, and to law schools preparing students for the practice they're about to enter.
WHY JOIN
This works in both directions. You help lead the conversation, and you get a front-row view of where legal AI is going. Seats are limited.
Be known as a leader in AI and law.
Council members are featured on our site with a profile and an official council badge. You'll also have opportunities to be quoted, to co-author content, and to speak, alongside peers from across the profession.
Tell us what you need before we build it.
Your feedback goes straight to the BoodleBox product and engineering teams and influences what we build next for legal.
See what's new before everyone else.
Council members get early access to new features and functionality before they launch, plus product intel on what's coming from BoodleBox.
Know what's moving in legal AI.
Hear about trends, news, and regulatory developments before they hit the headlines, along with lessons from peers using AI in plaintiff, defense, in-house, and academic settings.

Display your badge. Every member receives an official council badge to share on LinkedIn, in your bio, and in your email signature. Early members will be recognized as Founding Members.
Who we're looking for
We want practitioners and thinkers who are leading the way on collaborative AI in legal. You don't need to be a lawyer, and you don't need to be a BoodleBox user. You do need curiosity, a point of view, and a willingness to share it.
Who should apply:
• Practicing attorneys across plaintiff, defense, and in-house, from solo practices to global firms
• Legal technology and operations leaders, including IT and security leads at law firms
• Law school faculty, deans, and administrators working out how to teach AI
• Consultants and advisors helping legal teams adopt AI
• Ethics, risk, and compliance professionals working on AI governance

A live conversation among members and the BoodleBox team. In between, we'll send occasional previews, short surveys, and questions where we'd value your take.
Can't make every meeting? Send a delegate or proxy from your firm or organization to attend in your place.
No committees or required deliverables. Come with your perspective, and get a visible profile, badge, and voice in front of the legal community.
Applications are open on a rolling basis. Tell us about yourself and your work, and we'll be in touch about next steps.
