The URI Artificial Intelligence Lab is a cross-disciplinary facility open to all students, faculty, staff, and the wider Rhode Island community. It provides a space for research, exploration, and collaboration related to AI. Equipment: The lab features six specialized, powerful laptops capable of running large data sets and open-source software. Additionally, it utilizes technology from the library’s makerspace, including 3-D printers and virtual reality tools. Research Areas: Students and faculty can explore projects related to robotics, wearable technology, smart cities, public policy, and ethical considerations in AI. Principal Investigator: Dr. Kunal Mankodiya, an assistant professor of electrical, computer, and biomedical engineering, leads the lab. Link to Source
