The Role

As a Lawyer in Residence, you are our credibility, our compass, and our translator. We're not a tool that generates legal work product — we're the layer that wraps human judgment around AI, and your job is to prove that out with real litigation teams.

You'll work directly with trial firms as design partners: discovering where collaborative AI genuinely helps in real litigation work, shaping what we build, and helping other lawyers adopt it well. This is a discovery role, not a quota-carrying sales job — you're measured by how fast we learn and how well trial teams adopt, not by bookings.

You advise; you don't manage. You have no authority to bind the Company or direct its people — but your judgment shapes what we build and how we show up to the trial bar.

We typically start with a short, separately scoped design-partner sprint to confirm fit against real work, before expanding into the fuller advisory role described below.

What You'll Own

• Design-partner discovery. Partner with a small cohort of trial firms — run real workflows with them and capture what actually works.
• Product translation. Turn litigation practice (deposition prep, case strategy, expert prep, argument and theme testing) into clear product direction.
• Enablement. Help firms encode their own expertise and judgment into the platform.
• The Lawyer Advisory Board. Build and steer it.
• Case studies and thought leadership. Co-create case studies and represent BoodleBox to the trial bar.
• The honest voice. Speak plainly about privilege, confidentiality, and what lawyers will — and won't — trust an AI to touch.

Who You Are

• A practicing or former litigator. Ideally plaintiff/trial side — mass tort, personal injury, product liability, or complex commercial.
• Deep in real trial-prep workflows. Respected by your peers.
• Genuinely curious about AI. Clear-eyed that its job is to augment judgment, not replace it.
• A natural teacher and communicator. At ease on webinars, panels, and in writing.
• Entrepreneurial. Energized, rather than unsettled, by building something new.
• A bonus, not a requirement: experience on an advisory board or as a design partner elsewhere, or interest in eventually running your own book of business alongside this role.

What We Offer

• Monthly retainer. $5,000/month for a part-time commitment of about one day a week.
• Advisory equity. 0.10% of the Company on a fully diluted basis, vesting over four years with a one-year cliff.
• Your independence, protected. No commissions or fee-sharing, ever — by design, so the arrangement stays clean under the rules of professional conduct and your judgment stays genuinely your own.
• Room to build your own practice. Certification, training, early access, and good-faith introductions if you want to run your own AI-enabled litigation-support practice on the platform as a Certified BoodleBox Litigation Partner — keeping 100% of your own fees.
• Expense reimbursement. For reasonable, pre-approved out-of-pocket costs of doing the role.
• Real career growth. A path to a full operating role — including a potential Head of AI Solutions track — as the practice grows.
