Embracing AI: Integrating AI Tools in Systematic Review Search Development Instruction

Teaching and Learning with AI Conference Presentation: There is potential for researchers to use generative AI tools along all the steps of creating comprehensive search strategies for systematic reviews. This presentation will discuss how librarians at two institutions have integrated training on AI tools into their systematic review-searching instruction, while maintaining the focus on helping students think critically about the decisions they make developing search strategies, and how these decisions impact the overall methodological rigor of their reviews. We will share the processes, tips, tricks, and caveats that have helped our students integrate these tools into their search strategy design process.
