Get Started With BoodleBox
Once you’ve created your account and logged in, familiarizing yourself with the BoodleBox interface will help you make the most of its features. Here’s a guide to help you get started:
Create an Account
Getting started with BoodleBox is a straightforward process – for the workforce, instructors, and students alike. Here’s how to create your account and begin exploring the platform.
Sign Up
- Open your preferred web browser and go to box.boodle.ai
- Click the “Sign Up” tab at the top of the form
- Provide your full name and email address (preferably your institutional/work email)
- Create a strong password
- Click “Sign Up With Email”
Verify Your Account
- Check your email for a verification code
- If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder
- Enter the code to confirm your account
- Select “Teach”, “Work”, or “Learn” to tailor your experience
Note: if you prefer to sign up with Google, click the blue “Sign Up with Google” button for a speedier option.
Chats
In the context of BoodleBox, a chat refers to the conversation interface where you can interact with the top Large Language Models (LLMs) and BoodleBox assistants. You can ask questions, seek assistance, receive responses from the assistants, as well as engage your colleagues and peers. It’s a user-friendly way to communicate with bots and humans in one place.
Start a New Chat
- Start a new chat by clicking “+ Start New Chat” or using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + B
- Type your prompt in the chat bar and hit enter (or select the blue arrow)
- To start a new line before submitting a prompt use the keyboard shortcut Shift + Enter
Quick Commands
- Click on any command to activate a bot with the prompt provided
- It will immediately start a chat you can continue
- Categories of Quick Commands are available via the drop-down menu
- For more commands in a specific category, click on the refresh button
Bots
We have over 1,000 Bots in BoodleBox. These BoodleBox assistants can help you with various tasks relevant to your job, instructing your class, encouraging collaborative learning, and studying. You can learn more about the major LLMs available in BoodleBox here.
Bot Garage
- Click on the ‘Bots’ header in the left sidebar to open the Bot Garage
- AI models and pre-trained BoodleBots are separated by category to make finding the right bot easy
- Use the side arrows to expand categories and view available bots
- As you scroll, simply hover over any bot’s name to learn about its expertise and abilities
Bot Search: Bot Garage
- When you open the Bot Garage, you are able to search the bots using any keyword (e.g., “marketing”)
- Bots will automatically filter, only showing ones relevant to the keyword search
- When you find the bot you want to chat with, click on its name to switch the bot in your current chat
- If you want to start a new chat with the bot, click it’s three dot menu and select “Open in New Chat”
- A new chat will begin, and the bot will introduce itself to you
Bot Search: Chat Bar
- Click the bot avatar or type “@” in the chat bar to bring up the bot list
- Scroll through or use keywords to filter (e.g., “@letter”)
Auto-Recommendations
- Deselect the current bot by clicking “X”
- Type your task (e.g., “I want to write a product announcement”)
- BoodleBox will recommend suitable bots
Favorite Bots
- To make a bot easily accessible, click the three dots in the chat bar (or beside its name in the Bot Garage) and select “Favorite this bot”
- The bot will then appear in your Favorite Bots menu in the left sidebar
- It will also appear in the Favorite Bots section of your Bot Garage
- To remove the bot from your favorites, click the three dots in the chat bar (or beside its name in the Bot Garage) and select “Unfavorite this bot.”
Bot Stacking
- You can chat with many bots in the same chat in BoodleBox, allowing you to engage in more productive conversations and gain new perspectives
- To switch to a new bot, simply select the bot you would like to chat with from the left sidebar or the bot menu within the chat bar
- It will appear as your selected bot so you may continue your conversation where you left off
Knowledge
Knowledge in BoodleBox refers to the files and information that users can securely store, manage, and attach to their chats to provide context. When knowledge is attached to your chat, all of the bots in your chat will be able to reference it, making them smarter and more tailored to your specific needs.
Some examples of knowledge documents are: writing samples, brand messaging, rubrics, class curricula, or handwritten notes.
Knowledge Types & Size
- Supported knowledge formats are .pdf, .docx, .txt, .csv, .png, and .jpg
- Files are limited to 100 MB or less in size
Add Knowledge: Drag & Drop
- Drag and drop your file directly into the chat
Add Knowledge: Attach
- In the new chat window, hover over the paperclip icon in the top right corner of your BoodleBox chat to reveal the “Attach Knowledge” feature
- Select “Attach” to open the file upload dialog box and “Add Knowledge to Bank” to upload your learning objectives or syllabus
- Select the item you’d like to include in the chat and click “Attach”
Knowledge Bank
- All uploaded files will be automatically added to the knowledge bank (except for image files)
- Click the brain icon to view and manage files
- Starring a piece of knowledge will automatically attach it to every new chat
- Click an item’s three dot menu to rename the file or delete it from you knowledge bank
Group Chats
Group Chats enable multiple people, multiple sources of knowledge, and multiple AI bots to work together in a single conversation. Use BoodleBox Group Chats to collaborate, communicate, and collectively adopt generative AI technologies.
Share Chats
- If you would like to share your chat with others and collaborate, click the “+ Members” icon in the top right of the chat window
- Copy your link by clicking “Copy Link” and share it via email, Slack, LMS, or any other messaging platform
- Team members can view and contribute to the chat via the link
Manage Chat Members
- As people contribute to your chat, their picture will appear in the top right of your chat
- When you hover over the pictures, it will show a preview of members in the chat
- Click on the pictures to view and manage all members
Message Mode
- You can chat directly with members by typing “/” before any message in the chat bar
- Or by clicking the chat bar’s three dot menu and selecting “Switch to Message Mode”
- To return to bot conversations click the chat bar’s three dot menu and select “Switch to Bot Mode”
