Revise Course Assignments Using BoodleBox

  • Locate your current course syllabus or assignment document.

  • Start a new chat by clicking “+ Start New Chat” in the left sidebar.
  • Use the drag and drop feature to upload your learning objectives to the chat.

Step 2: Ask AI

  • Ask the AI (we suggest Class Assignment Bot) to help you revise an existing assignment into an active learning assignment that incorporates AI use.
    • Example prompt: I have attached a syllabus for XYZ course. Please review it and identify the writing assignment that would be most suitable for incorporating AI tools. Provide a detailed explanation of why this particular assignment is the best candidate for AI integration, including specific ways AI could enhance the learning objectives. 
  • Review the AI’s suggestions and engage in back and forth conversation until you feel that the bot is on the right track. 
  • Once you feel good about the bot’s direction, request for it to rewrite the assignment based on the mutually decided upon plan.
    • Example Prompt: Based on our previous discussion, please rewrite the selected assignment to integrate AI effectively. Clearly follow the same formatting of my original assignment and provide step-by-step instructions for how the student should use AI in the assignment. 
  • Analyze the AI’s proposed changes to your assignment.
  • Ask the AI to make further refinements, focusing on enhancing student engagement and interaction with AI tools.
  • Iterate this process until you’re satisfied with the active learning elements and AI integration.

Step 3: Finalize & Export

  • Carefully review the assignment to ensure a balance between traditional and AI-powered activities so as not to distract from core learning objectives.
  • Copy the AI-generated active learning assignment text from BoodleBox.
  • Open Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
  • Paste the assignment text into your document.
  • Edit the assignment as needed to promote active learning and meaningful AI interaction, while ensuring clarity and ease of use.
